Genesys HTA® Endometrial Ablation
What is Endometrial Ablation?
Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive treatment that permanently removes endometrial tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, the source of your heavy period.
Am I a good candidate?
The Genesys HTA® Endometrial Ablation is for use in premenopausal women with AUB due to benign causes for whom childbearing is complete. It is an alternative endometrial ablation system to Minerva ES. It is designed to help ensure that a woman with an atypically shaped uterus has access to an ablation.
Together we will decide if this is the right treatment for you.
How does Genesys HTA® work?
Heated saline endometrial ablation under direct visualization
A small tube with a camera is inserted into your uterus to allow your physician to view every step of the treatment. Instead of plasma contained in a silicone tip, HTA uses heated saline that circulates throughout the uterine cavity for ten minutes. During the treatment, your physician maintains continuous visualization of your uterus, while the saline ensures complete coverage of all endometrial tissue. The uterus is flushed with cooled saline, drained and the tube is removed.

While Minerva ES delivers the best clinical results of all endometrial ablation treatments available today1, Genesys HTA can be the difference between AUB and a normal, regular period.
For many women, that’s just right.
Together we will decide if this is the right treatment for you.
We may want to do some preliminary tests to determine what is causing your abnormal uterine bleeding such as a pelvic exam and/or ultrasound.

Vaginal discharge is normal and part of the healing process. Initially the discharge is likely to be bloody in color, and it will gradually turn clear. During this time, the use of sanitary protection is recommended.
